The operation and organization of the Department is supported by the administrative staff. The faculty members are in charge of  teaching and of conducting research.

The faculty  is  divided  into  three  categories;  the Full-Time Faculty,  the Adjunct Faculty and  the Specialized Educational Personnel.

The decision-making bodies of the School are the General Assembly, the Deanery and the Dean. The Departments decision-making bodies are the President and the General Assembly.  The Department’s General Assembly is convened in set periods of time and includes the President, all Academic Members of Staff and representatives of the students. The Department has established an excellent spirit of cooperation between the students, their tutors and the administrative staff. The students can meet their teachers in their offices, on designated days and hours, and discuss the progress of their studies, get answers to questions they may have, or discuss their opportunites and prospects after graduating.

All administrative offices accept the students daily and process their applications and requests fast and efficiently. The Department, as well as the University of the Aegean in whole, has placed the student and his needs in the center of the attention. Students are represented and have the right to vote in all decisive bodies, including the Senate of the University, regarding all matters of their studies, the use of the University services and in general about issues around their life and activities in the Aegean Islands as students.
