Maritime finance, economics and management
Dr. Konstantinos A. Chrysafis is an Associate Professor at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport, Business School, University of the Aegean, in the field of “Maritime Finance, Economics and Management” and teaching staff at the Hellenic Open University. He has carried out seven (7) autonomous Postdoctoral Researches, four (4) at the Department of Civil Engineering – Democritus university of Thrace in the fields of project and risk management and financial engineering in uncertain environments, one (1) at the Department of Maritime Studies – University of Piraeus in the field of financial risk management in Shipping, and two (2) at the Department of Tourism Economics and Management – University of the Aegean in the fields of crisis management and financial management of shipping companies. He is currently supervising two doctoral candidates and has previously supervised a significant number of Master’s theses. Dr. Chrysafis has published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals while he himself serves as both an editor and a reviewer in many international journals of recognized scientific prestige. From 2013 to 2017 he worked as a scientific staff member at the Ministry of Finance in the Strategic Planning of the General Secretariat for Public Revenue. During his tenure, he worked as a Public Finance Analyst and Strategic Planning Specialist, while in addition to these, he supported with physical presence the positions of the Ministry of Finance and the General Secretariat for Public Revenue in the negotiations with the Troika-Institutions. Dr. Chrysafis has served as a scientific associate of the Deputy Minister of Development, as well as during his tenure at the Ministry of Finance, among other duties, he served as an advisor to the Secretary General of Public Property. From 2017 to February 2024, he worked at the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (I.A.P.R.) as a Senior Program and Project Manager for the execution of I.A.P.R.’s projects.
