Dr. Athena Roumboutsos is a Professor at the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport, University of the Aegean. She is a Dipl. Eng. from the National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD in Reservoir Eng. from Heriot Watt University, UK (1988). She has worked as a consultant and project manager for the public and private sector in more than 20 countries for over 15 years before joining the University in 2005. Her research interests in Public Private Partnerships include risk analysis & management, stakeholder management,change management and innovation, transport infrastructure evaluation, procurement and contract management, accountability and entrepreneurial responsibility, entrepreneurship, alliances and strategies, game theory and models.Awards and Distinctions include: Elected President of the COST Action TU1001 Public Private Partnerships in Transport: Trends & Theory (2010-2014); IKY Scholarship: 1979-1987, Bodossaki Foundation Scholarship: 1987-1988; US Patent 5383122 “Method for analyzing pressure buildup in lowpumping rate wells”. Research Interests include: Project Management, Risk Analysis & Management, Stakeholder Management, Change Management and innovation, Transport Infrastructure Evaluation, Public Private Partnerships, Procurement and Contract Management, Entrepreneurship, Accountability and Entrepreneurial Responsibility, Alliances and Strategies, Game Theory. Her teaching includes Project Management, Risk Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management.
